HB Solar Canada and the Solar Majengo in Lights & Electricity project

HB Solar Canada supports solar projects in  developing countries: The Solar Majengo in Lights & Electricity project (SMILE) is a 6kW off-grid solar project in rural Tanzania. In 2014, HB Solar donated $1000 towards the capital costs of the solar equipment, which was all sourced within Africa, driving economic development.

The battery based solar system will bring lights to the children at the Majengo Orphanage in Tanzania. The project will be completed in June of 2015. HB Solar Canada supported the SMILE project from its inception, an initiative started by Lisa Oelke, Manager Marketing and Business Development.
